Recent Accomplishments

I am proud of the following accomplishments of the town council and town:

  1. Passed budgets the last 3 years with no tax increases, and reduced our town residential tax rate from the 2025 fiscal year.

  2. Feircely advocated on behalf of Town residents regarding multiple challenges within the Quonset Business Park.

    • This included having an unplanned town council meeting in which approximately 500 residents came to, to discuss these challenges.

    • This also included having the governor come to 2 town council meetings, one of which he informed the citizens of NK that he would stand with them “shoulder-to-shoulder”.

  3. Increased funding for education for then any other RI municipality (on a % basis).

  4. Advocated for and secured a roundabout in Wickford and bike lanes on Boston Neck Road.

  5. Balanced every budget every year, which has resulted in an 80% increase in Town reserves, which as resulted in the town attaining a AA+ Bond Rating during my tenure.

  6. Completed upgrades to Yorktown Park.

  7. Made significant strides towards addressing hazard mitigation, climate resilency and coastal sea rise:

    • Upgraded our CRS Rating

    • Initiated Town beach wall upgrades

    • Initiated Tree canopy expansion along with being recoginzed as a Tree USA Community.

  8. Directed our Administration to improve and modernize the Town’s Social Media presence that has resulted in a revamped website.

  9. Successfully negotiated collective bargaining agreements with all of our municipal unions.

  10. Participant in a successful PFAs class action settlement which has led to a significant settlement to the Town for PFAs remediation.

  11. Provided funding for the Town’s 350th anniversary and our nation’s 250th anniversary celebrations.

  12. Make water main replacements in critical areas of the town.

  13. Participated in the RhodeRestore Program that helpd to pave more than 30 miles of local roads last year alone.

  14. Achieved one of the highest Low & Moderate income housing percentages in the state.

In Previous years:

  1. Restored professionalism and respectful decorum to the council.

  2. Restored and made our historic town hall operational.

  3. Established a homestead tax exemption for town residents.

  4. Renovated our Town Beach, McGinn Park, and Wilson Park including a new splashpad and courts for Wilson Park.

  6. Government Finance Officer Ass’n (GFOA) Budget Award for town financial accomplishments.

  7. Remote Net Metering project providing utility savings to the town.

  8. Improvements to Golf Course infrastructure making it a profitable venture in town and leading to one of the busiest golf courses in all of New England.

  9. Successfully negotiated collective bargaining agreements with all of our municipal unions.

 2026 and Beyond

 If re-elected, I will :

  1. Continue to develop a fiscally prudent budget.

  2. Continue to lead the fight against Quonset Business Park overreach

  3. Support education while maintaining our town public safety, senior services, and parks and recreation.

  4. Continue to address local climate change challenges, try to protect our environment,

  5. Lobby the state to address Route 4 traffic challenges, try to make our roads safe.

  6. Monitor and oversee the new Public Safety Complex and Wickford Middle School construction projects.

  7. Complete the renovation of the Municipal Office building with zero local tax dollars.

  8. Monitor and and ensure that the West Main/Post Road sidewalk project is completed in a timely fashion.

  9. Contiune the Post Road facade and holiday decorating programs.

  10. Follow through on the sale of Wickford Elementary School.

  11. Continue to invest in digital resilience and cybersecurity.

  12. Complete the sale of the Oak Hill Garage.
